I personally hate Facebook.
It's a generational thing, I think.
People do use it in ways that seen very unorthodox to me.
Maybe try to contact the producer through the BBC to verify that she made the contact?
So much for the big secret!
Pepper Whites are having their stripes stripped off already...
Edited to add: Why wouldn't they contact MINI USA?
Maybe they aren't geniuses...

The Show was nominated in 2011 in the Children's Programme Category for a British Academy Scotland Award
Not her first either...in 2008 another show she produced, Raven-The Secret Temple, was also nominated in the Children's Programme Category.
I think someone with the right MINI might be missing a possible cool story to share.-

There have been instances that TV shows being filmed in Atlanta and they have used member's cars. Don't give them any credit card/bank info... But it does happen. They paid them for the use. Little fame, little money.
-
Look for a website, not just FB, also.

I agree with John. The folks in the movie world do that all the time. Of course you did post the secret details already. I was in the movie Gettysburg and they actually rented my horse for me to ride.

Most movie production companies like to get all the need, right where they are shooting and then move on, with out a bunch of excess baggage, long term contracts etc. I'm not saying this person is legit, but if you need MINI, short term, in MI, what better place to try then the local club's FB page. Find one, offer a fair rental price, let the owner be part of it all and then move on. This does not seem way off base to me.

In these days of Google it is sometimes fairly easy to find out more info.
For instance this show is on BBC and the person is named as the producer.
BBC - CBBC Programmes - All Over the Place, Series 1, Camels, Cones and Racing Mascots!
She has a LinkedIn Page that states she is a producer for the BBC
From a BBC Press Release.... BBC - Media Centre - CBBC announces programme commissions
All Over the Place USA (13 x 30 minute programmes)
All Over the Place returns to CBBC for a third series, and this time Ed Petrie and his CBBC mates are off to the USA.
Ed is joined by Naomi Wilkinson, Jonny Pitts, Cellach Spellman, Iain Stirling and Michelle Ackerley on a bizarre quest to find the most unusual, strange and amazing places to visit in the United States of America.
All Over the Place USA is executive produced by Louise Corbett and produced by Maria Stewart.
Vetting her even more is the IMDB entry

My two cents...it's legit. -
Just like Justa Jim I've been in a movie too, sorta...
Back in the 90's when the family owned a retail/wholesale produce operation in Annapolis, MD we were approached one day by some advance guy for the movie Patriot Games. They wanted to use our truck. We had a good laugh but said sure, we'd need a truck to use though when they had ours, and oh yeah, we want tickets to the premier if they did one locally.
Welp, they showed up a month later one morning with a truck for us, a stack of contracts and a letter from the Mayor thanking us for supporting the filming of the movie.
The premier was screened at the Naval Academy. Not only did we attend but we were contracted to supply the produce for the local catering company.
These things happen in strange ways. It's good to have an open mind, but verify. -
Well the consensus seems to be that yes I ma being paranoid.

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you"
-Joseph Heller Catch 22
And before you ask, no, I don't have flies in my eyes. -
The word is out.
I am amazed that they would wait so close to the filming to find the car they need.
I guess things move fast in that business.
I was disappointed that the BBC site doesn't play videos online outside of the UK.
I want to see the MINI in their show!
Maybe the USA segment will be shown on BBC America.
