I'm wondering if this tool of a guy bought a MINI would he cease to be a tool & be transformed into a human? Might be worth a go....

Just tell him to bring his man car to the track and we'll be very happy to neuter it for him... lol

All I can say about this thread is that you folks bashing the Prius are on equal footing with the guy that said he would turn in his Man Card if he got a MINI. Real car guys (and gals) know a purpose built car when they see one, and appreciate them (the good ones anyway) for what they were designed to do. I know because I have one of each, and each does a fantastic job at what they were designed to do. I know you're all just having a little fun, but please make it at the expense of the anonymous 'M3 owner', and not the Prius or even the Smart Car for that matter. And to the OP: the guy drives an M3, so I'd have to guess he likes the "spirited driving" we MINI owners like too. Although I'm not pleased with his 'Man Card' comment, his possible future "car hygiene" is none of my business, so in your shoes I would just tell him the MINI is a blast to drive, but it probably won't save him much on gas.

I think one of the WORST things about owning a MINI was all the overly judgmental owners who had their own ideas about what an owner should be. Being corrected at a meet when I said "trunk" or "hood" made me want to puncha motha****a. Just being honest.
As for "turning in a man card"?? My car had as much power to the wheels as an E36 M3 did at the crank (plus Recaro's and NICE suspension). If anybody laughed at me or looked at me funny, it was their own ignorance. Not to mention, I'd look down at them (literally) if I climbed out of that tiny car to scratch their itch to start something.
I got a LOT of "thumbs up" from BMW and Porsche owners in my car. It looked the business, not all cutesy.
Just two weeks ago, I was stuck in traffic in Fredericksburg, VA next to a yellow MINI. Bumper sticker said "If you ride my bumper, I'll drive slower". Lady had on matching yellow earrings, a matching yellow visor and had her cell phone on a sticky mat on the dash (bluetooth ear piece, in yellow) and a Garmin GPS on a sandbag mount. Know how I know this person bought the car never intending to drive it like MINI intended??? My buddy looked over and then back at me and said "Hey look, she's 'your people'" to which I responded "XXXX off!" -
forgot to mention....this is the same buddy who got a BUNCH of dirty looks from a MINI owner when we pulled beside them at a stoplight while testing the SVT Raptor he wants to buy for his "commuter" car (replacing a Honda CR-Z)

As a car enthusiast, I like and appreciate a lot of cars out there- I've had everything from Jeeps, to full-size trucks, etc. I've loved them all for individual reasons.
I just hate that someone is considering buying a MINI and already putting it down :confused5:
Then why get one is my opinion. Look at something else then.

It's a car person site that has a main focus of MINI.
