2nd Gen R56 Cooper S Ambient lighting

    Hey guys I finally got my cooper S. Awesome car I'm loving it!! Just trying to figure out a few things. Does anyone know how to turn off ambient lighting. Mine stays on during the day as I'm driving doesn't make much sense. Any ideas as to how to turn it off during the day??

    No way to turn it off that I know of.

    You can change colors but that's it. It's on all the time.

    Ah ok thanks. I am surprised that they did that. I would think they would have it so that it's off during the day.

    You can dim it so it is not noticeable though - it is controlled by the instrument lighting button. Left button on the tachometer, or maybe the right button.
    I have the opposite problem, the ambient lighting is hardly visible at night unless I turn the brightness way up on the instruments so everything is too bright.

    I thought the ambient lighting shut off when the headlights were off, or did they change that for 2012?

    I like my "mood lights" but it would be very annoying to not want them and be unable to turn them off!

    You could always remove the bulbs or upgrade to an R53. Hehehe:aureola::D

    It's odd that ambient lighting is standard, but rear fog lights are an option. :confused5:
