Hello. Just recently got a 2015 S convertible, and love it! Ditched the run flats after hitting a pothole and destroying sidewall. Rides much better now!

Big brakes are always nice.. but also expensive. The caliper cover thing is interesting. I always thought they were more for bling.. never thought there would be a claim that they cool the caliper. It's an interesting concept. If they were designed for cooling compared to bling. With the turbulent air inside the wheel conceptually if they were designed to flow the air it's possible they could provide cooling... will have to look into that more. In the end, I agree that bigger brakes is the ultimate solution if they are actually needed (Most people don't need them).... but if big brakes with covers helped cool even better (similar to brake ducting.. which many times blows the air directly onto the caliper).. that could be better.
@TnickR57 - Welcome to MA. As you can see, we love to discuss things. Would be interesting if you did they same test they did. I.e. Take the covers off one side and do some brake test with temp readings to see if there is a difference (if you actually care about the performance). That would provide some data points..

MGP contests the presumed heat issue...
"DO THE CALIPER COVERS TRAP IN BRAKE HEAT?
No, we designed the Caliper Covers to dissipate brake heat. Our specially engineered covers divert heat away from your brakes and out through the top of your factory calipers. We hold our production standards to an OEM level to ensure safety and durability. Check out this video on our MGP Caliper Covers Heat Test."

Like Dave said they can claim anything they want. Use them if you like, but it is NOT a good idea. Pull them off & sell them on fleaBay.

Adding a chuck of metal sure would act like a heat sink. But does it remove heat? Color me very skeptical. The guy selling the covers does the testing.
I've never seen a race or rally car with heat sinks bolted to their calipers. If you want cool brakes you add ducting for air or even a water sprayer. Really don't need them for a street car at least I don't.-

Completely agree - never seen a race car with them, but I have seen plenty of race cars with brake ducting and big brakes. I’m also skeptical, would be cool if TnickR57 did the independent test.
