Yeah I don't pay retail for OEM parts even when I buy them at the Dealership. :ihih:

It pays to make friends with your local dealership parts manager.

You are better off going with a 15% and a cam than a 17% thats my thoughts.
the 15% is on the edge of the compressor map already a 17 or 19 will push it even further off. Diminishing returns is the easiest way to explain that.
The cam increases the volumetric efficiency without having to overdrive the blower as much.
People will argue with me, i don't care.
All of the pulleys are essentially good quality.
That said i prefer Helix/Craven pulleys. i have never had trouble with either.
Alegedly Alta makes a good one. I had no problems with it when i had one though they have changed the design.

Yes I agree 100% ^ and I would never put a 19% on a car that I wanted to use as a daily driver.

Like Colin said you can make much more power with the other mods like BVH, CAM, Injectors, Meth, Header and a custom tune done correctly.

Sure you can run a 17% or 19% pulley but you wont be running it for long at red line with all the heat it generates in the Eaton M45 SC.

Yup for and for a 1st Gen intercooler upgrade nothing beats the OEM GP intercooler.

Yes they are pricey but they are worth it.

This has been proven several times year after year. Yes, some tests will show something better is a staged test environment for one or two runs but in the real world the GP one recovers the best and out performs the others in the end.

If you add Meth everything stays really cool. :ihih::devil:

No...I'm curious, why do you ask? The meth cools better than the IC, it's not dependent on the IC at all. With meth you can get by with a smaller IC.

Nope, if you get meth you wont ever need a bigger I/C. :)

Yes it would, but it's diminishing returns--you're not going to get THAT much more cooling, and you can adjust the meth to your usage. It's at the point of diminishing returns. Personally, I'd skip the Forge, and just use meth, or get the GP intercooler and use meth. The Forge just might end up being more trouble than it's worth...

I think CopPer got rid of his system and got the Aquamist setup after all the problems he had.

I don't mind it rattling a little if it keeps the tensioner from grenade'n my ATI pulley. But it's secured at both ends unlike the ALTA tensioner stop so it shouldn't rattle.

Yep..........bad thing to happen. Was an R53 in the shop same time as mine for this exact reason.....destroyed crank pulley caused by the tensioner crashing into it after the belt broke. Shop asked me where I got my stop and sent him to WMW for this one but told them not to install it as it was pictured but to turn it around.

Narvarr you do want to flip that bar around though. Installed that way will rattle ALOT because the end of the damper that it is secured to does a lot of moving around causing it to rattle at the other end. If you swap it around the rattling end simply moves around in the slot. Lots less noise.

Thank for the heads up on that. I'll have to flip it around the next time I'm under there.

Unless your 11 year old crank pulley keeps eating them! :(

The last one I put on lasted 3 days and about 1000 miles... When I got home it was a 5 rib shoe lace again! :(

ATI from the original motor is going on over the weekend. :)

The tensioner pulley most definitely will hit the crank pulley simply because the spring will force it down at speed because of the tension. Saw it happen on mine the first time I went to swap out the tensioner after the tab stop I put in slipped out after taking the belt off.

In regards to the belt maintenance........no one has ever heard of one getting eaten up from a piece of debris caught in one of the pulleys?

Yup...noticed that when I did mine....
Just proves how crappy the OEM design is, and how good the ATI is!!:postcount
