    Another thing to check is the ground attachment on the back of the head unit

    It could be a corroded connection back by the antenna on the outside or the inside. D you have a stubby antenna or a stock antenna?

    Do you still have the stock radio in the car? I am only asking because if someone put in an aftermarket radio they may not have hooked up the MINI powered antenna correctly.
