Any experience with nylon tow straps?

    Well.... Here's the thing about nylon... They all start to degrade from UV exposure over time.... This can be improved with UV stabilizers that can be added to the polymer during compounding, one of the best is carbon black, acts like little sun blockers protecting the polymer bonds... But eventually the polymer will start to break down...

    And just when you need it to do it's job.... Snap....

    If its for cosmetic purposes.... No problem...
    If it's for track use.... Be checking the webbing for degradation.... If it's stored and only comes out for use on track days... should last quite a while....

    But if it's hanging on the bumper all the time and then comes a track day.... Welp... Keep a spare....

    Yep & that's why race organizations require seat belt replacements at regular intervals. :yesnod:
