Hi, my 2005 Mini Cooper CVT transmission just went out. Car wouldn't move in Drive or Reverse. I'm not financially stable right now, but I can still come up $3,000 for the repair. I was hoping someone can share there information if they know any transmission/repair shop in LA, OC, or San Bernardino County that's within my price range. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am currently car-less at the moment.

Please reply on this thread so we can share this information with other Mini owners that's having the same problem. I can also be reach at [email protected], Thanks.

Welcome to Motoring Alliance, thanks for joining...

I've heard that MINI Worx knows their way around MINI gearbox. You can find them and other MINI Shops in the area in the Local Shops listings.

Thanks for the info. It'll be impossible for me to tow my Mini to SF. I'm sure this is good information for anyone in that area though.

    Haha, I wish.

I called them before, but they don't do rebuild and to replace a brand new transmission will run me somewhere in the 6 thousand. :cryin:

So I drop off my car today at a shop in Glendora, CA called Mini Expert. The owner (Ben) was very helpful. He quoted me $3500 for a complete rebuild on my CVT transmission. It comes with a 2 year warranty. That is the best deal I found so far. Lets hope everything works out for me. :fingerscrossed:

Just curious how your transmission has been working since the rebuild. I may get mine done next week. How was working with Ben?

The transmission runs like new again. Ben is a very good mechanic, and know a lot about the Mini Cooper. His labor rate is not bad either.
