You can try that or use Dodo Juice Blue Velvet PRO Hard Wax.
Dodo Juice Blue Velvet PRO Hard Wax, dodo juice car wax, wax for dark paint, wax with sealant
I would buy the small sample sizes to see what one works best before you invest in the $60 and up sizes.
Supernatural works great on all colors especially light colors but I would only use Purple Haze on dark colors Red, Black, Dark Green.
Here is some good info on Dodo Juice and what wax is for what color.

Based on that chart I could go with purple haze or rainbow rub.
-
He spoke highly of it. I think I'm going to go with a combo of dodo's hard candy and rainforest rub. I'll get purple haze on the backside and see if I like a layer of HC + RR or HC + PH better. Auto geeks.net has a deal where you get 2 waxes for around 20 bucks.

Just ordered the smaller options for rainforest rub and hard candy. Looking forward to seeing his it works.

Personally, I think the caranuba wax you can buy anywhere works just as well as the high dollar stuff. Really just my opinion because I am sure it could be debated.

Your are right all carnauba wax is the same but it's the amount of pure #1 brazilian carnauba you get and what else is mixed in with it.
Some companies substitute bees wax and other natural waxs and fillers and only use a little carnauba and still get away with calling the wax "Carnauba". -
Got the smaller sizes of rainforest run and hard candy about a week ago, but haven't used them yet.
-
I just order some last week. Cannot wait to see how yours looks.

Awesome looking GP and great job on the detailing.

Thinking of ordering a 30ml sample size of Purple Haze to try on the Coop (when good weather and time off work coincide). Does DJ leave any white residue on black trim, rubber, etc? I don't want to try Dave's "secret sauce" on the black trim just to have white crap all over it from waxing/polishing.
I am new to serious detailing, and in need of good advice about procedures and products to use. Sure, I've taken good care of my cars in the past, but it's only since I've owned this Chili Red beauty that I want to make it stand out even more. -

Nope it will not leave white marks and since your black trim is already treated you will be fine. With a 30 ml pot you can do one MINI at least 3 times.
The key is a little goes a looooooong way. -
Thanks, Dave.
Going to order the Purple Haze 30ml, and whatever else I can find (free shipping on first order). Anything else that I should get?
Off to work now, will check back later.

Order the Dodo finger wax applicators. They are supper soft and will not scratch your paint while applying wax.
If you want 10% off your order add the code : amazon10.

The samples are a great way to see if you think the stuff works. Careful though, the little jars are very slippery and don't fair well when they strike the concrete...

Just got a bottle of Dodo Juice Red Mist detailer. Bottle is smaller than expected considering the price. Plan on samples of Purple haze and wookie hand and finger mitts next week.

Yup but watch how little you use to wax your whole car.

I recently took advantage of the Autogeek Memorial Day sale, 20% off and $5 shipping, to get the 30ml sizes of DJ Purple Haze Pro and Blue Velvet Pro (among other things). I've already tried the Purple Haze. They regularly have them for $19.99 for 2 x 30ml pots, any combo of the DJ waxes. 20% off gave two pots for $16. Bargain.
Next question for Dave is, is there a "sealant" that you would recommend to go on after the wax? Also, is there a bug remover that you would recommend?
Off to work now, to see how many more flying pouches of protein and enzymes want to use my MINI to commit Hari Kari. :mad5:
