The G4 is a composite with thin aluminum sandwiching a proprietary polymer and is hella strong, I've plowed snow and dirt with mine (don't ask) with no issues, and unfortunately I had to retrieve one off a wreck (power steering failure!) - while it wasn't completely intact, it withstood the impact extremely well.
Note that none of the splitters are simple bolt-ons, thank Mini for "running changes" to their front end configuration, but with minor adjusting they're a fairly straightforward install, and tend to tame the front end some. Combined with a rear diffuser, they definitely settle the car at speed (yes, even considering that our Mini's are relative aerodynamic bricks).
Talk to Mark at G4...

Let me clarify and say that I've designed some of the Group 4 aero items. Wayne has also been instrumental in design and development and we are continuing the process to create a total aerodynamic solution for all of the models. My JCW Clubman Is the test mule for the latest prototypes, the splitter and wing. it also has a diffuser that works with a custom made made 2.5" o.d. Magnaflow exhaust system that was built by a partner company of ours. All of these items will appear soon on the G-4 and MiniFini website now that testing has been completed.

MINI Cooper Carbon Fiber Front Lower Spoiler
Even if you contact him I'm sure he would know where to find one if he didn't have what you needed.

It's called a "splitter". I got mine from G4 Auto Sports. They are a sponsor here on M/A. You can contact Mark.

What is theirs made out of???

If you have one (I was told it's called a splitter) let me know where you got it. -
Which aero kit do you have? M7 has one that will fit the JCW Aero
M7: MINI Cooper Performance Parts
FWIW, the splitters are different than the "lip spoilers" as the splitters are actually very functional and not just cosmetic like the lip spoilers. -
great! Let us know how it goes. I'm thinking of getting one as well.

... and I've had one N2MINI made for me for a few years, too. The thing has taken tons of abuse and still looks great. I chose to coat mine in plasti-dip and not use the edging, think it looked better on my car that way.
Just took it off last night to get a little better gas mileage (which a functional splitter will definitely impact). My car looks nekkid now. -
