I wasn't asking if the R56 GP wing would fit on an R53. I saw a thread that showed and R56 GP wing being installed on stock R56 glass. I was just wondering if the same would be true for an R53 is all.

I am going to order one and find out either way. I can get the glass no problem, why spend the money on it if it is not needed.

So if anyone knows if it is possible like the R56, let us know!

Yes they did. I've seen also they were working on a carbon fiber version but have not heard lately.

I've got a big stockpile of random OE parts, and a good amount of aftermarket junk that doesn't work, but mo glass. :(

How does the GP1 wing install? Does it attach to the rear roof piece, or just to the hatch?

Thanks Paul. So does the bracket then attach to the hatch, and the wing to the bracket?

It looks like its a matter of drilling a couple of holes into the side of the hatch and done, from the diagram.

That's the way it looks to me from the diagram. I've never looked closely at one in the flesh, but I should have one here to inspect and dis-assemble in a week or so.

What did you end up paying for the wing and glass?

Having looked at all this closely in the past. There are nutserts in the hatch that the uprights bolt to.

Note how they are attached here...
