You should have seen the light bar that Gennello had on the Wildebeest at the dragon two years ago. That thing lit up the whole road from our cabin to the top of the hill by the bar.

The bulbs worked well. The side marker and front side light are much brighter.

    Not really... but thanks.

Not to completely jack the thread... but if anyone is thinking about buying a set for themselves, and is planning on being at the dragon this year, someone might want to set up a group-buy to help save on shipping. Just a suggestion. I know when I bought them, I paid 2 or 3 times as much for the shipping as I did for the actual bulbs.

My bulbs came, 10x can/bus error free and 2x 9 Led bulbs. Testing begins next week.

My link is indeed the side light bulbs. One other reason I went with them is the fact that they are sealed. No way for moisture to dork the circuits. I know they are encased in housings and all, but they do tend to leak over time.

    That was my logic, anyway.

I'm going to be in the US but I'd not sure if I'll be going due to other priorities. Yes I know Mini should be #1 priority..lol of course I'd love to go.

I read something about LED bulbs throwing codes, is this an issue?

Nope. I have had them in the car for well over a year now. No issues. I only have them in the scuttles, though. The rest of my marker lights are incandescent bulbs that glow amber, but have a silver coating to make them less visible through the lenses. http://www.detroittuned.com/silver-turn-bulb/

I've even swaped the license plate bulbs to LED. Strange thing is they flash with the lights off. I turn the lights on/off and the flashing stops. I swapped the reversing light to LED too....Now I have a disco Mini LOL

Yup you need LEDs with resistors for the rear lights or they blink. Ask me how I know? :incazzato:

Chris you need these from Oitmotoring. I have had them in for 2 plus years no blinking.

Ha, I just got to the same realization after watching my new LEDs blink while the car is "OFF" - bizzare. I checked and there's actually 10 volts on those connectors when the bulbs are out of the car.

that set from Outmotoring - is that with the plastic covers, or do I re-use my grungy, half broken covers? I need one replaced as it has been cooked to brittle yellow crystals by the stock bulbs. Is it normal for those stock bulbs to get so warm? (the reason I was trying LEDs).

I have led side marker lights. Let me fire up the laptop and see if I can find what bulbs they were.

If they are Amber LEDs they look better with a smoked lens.

"sidelight" is the British term for front parking/running lights. Is that what you are talking about, Rally? But then you said 4 blown bulbs, which doesn't match up.

Pardon my British LOL. front side light(next to turn signal light) and side marker lights are the same bulbs, 2 for the front, and 4 for the side marker lights. I wanted to replace those bulbs with LED.
