Looking at the map and talking to a friend that lives out in Colorado I'm gonna do a bit of an off the beaten path route.

The goal here is the US Route 34, known as Trail Ridge Road/Beaver Meadow National Scenic Byway. It traverses Rocky Mountain National Park from Estes Park, Colorado in the east to Grand Lake, Colorado in the west. It crosses the Continental Divide at Milner Pass (elev. 10,758 ft/3,279 m) and reaches a maximum elevation of 12,183 ft (3,713 m), near Fall River Pass (elev. 11,796 ft/3,595 m). Near the highest point on the road is another pass, Iceberg Pass (elev. 11,827 ft/3,604 m).

    See http://www.coloradodot.info/travel/scenic-byways/north-central/trail-ridge-rd

The route from Indy is about 1200 miles via I-74 -> I-72 -> I-29 and then the haul across NE on I-80. My plan is go about 900 miles on Tues to Ogallala, NE. From there its about another 200 miles till the road gets real interesting west of Loveland culminating with the goal...120 miles up in the Mtns.

If interested in joining me please let me know. Be warned that I get in the car and go! 900 miles in a day is easy for me.

We are leaving the same time/day from STL, but crossing KS. Your route does sound interesting:Thumbsup: The dogs would slow us down, never keep up with ya, even with the little mod hopefully happening to the Clubbie tomorrow:D
