Piece of cake, if you want to cut and splice wires.
But no, I've never done it.
I have smoked replacement arch lights, plus have the blacked out with film and loaded with color (amber and red) LEDs.
At MSSD, my nextdoor neighbors were in the Z club - they were jealous of my arch lights... "Our cars just have reflectors - bleh!"
And some MINIs are deleting theres with euro trim - funny.

eh... thats a lot of side flashing lol...like a 18wheeler. plus it'd be on/off/on/off, not regular/brighter/regular/brighter, like a tail lamp...which would be better

I like the idea, but the on/off/on/off (pointed out ^^ ) kind of turns me off. If it could be made to work like a tail lamp but flashing dimmer instead of brighter, i.e., regular/dimmer/regular/dimmer, it would be better turn signal visibility at night without being obnoxious.

Aren't our side indicators already On/Off/On/Off? Shouldn't be a big deal visibility wise.
It'd be quite easy to do with a little relay. I was gonna do the opposite and attempt to make the side turn indicator also work as the side running light with a similar solution: [ame=http://www.motoringunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16682]Side Light concept. Input? - motoring|underground[/ame]
I just got rid of mine....much better IMO  -
ok now lets make some with like 6 LEDs that sweep from top to bottom when the signal is on... Like the Mustang Sequential turn signals
i want that, with new fenders that have no scuttle/vent/light whatsoever... someday lol -

Brighter dimmer is easy...
just run a wire to them with some diodes in the string to drop voltage. The rest is left as an exersice for the curious.
