Parts are on the way. JRZ coil overs, hyper coil springs, new camber plates adj. sway bar end links. Going to put a bigger sway bar on the front and replace the control arm bushings. Get it realined and corner balanced again. Was running -2.7 camber in the front and -1.7 rear might go to -3 and -2 degs. Will be back on the track by Aug 22nd Not sure what I'll do with the AST's swift springs and old camber plates. If anybody's interested PM me also have the set of stock shocks and springs plus a set of TSW springs around here someplace. .
I think it's to get the car to rotate better. Also because you have to drop the subframe to replace the bushing it's easy to install.
I bigger sway bar will induce under steer. It will not get it to rotate better. I might be wrong on that, but I don't think so.
You are correct sir. Stiffer front suspension means more understear - the car will tend to push instead of rotate. This can be induced by stiffer front sway bar, stiffer front shocks, or stiffer front springs. Assuming no change to rear suspension. Alan
Parts are here. Will take the car down tomorrow and get it all installed and set up. This set up looks several grades above what is on it now, much I guess it should for the price difference.
Looking at the old set up,the reason it failed the shaft banged into the inside of the camber plate you could see the marks. The shaft is probably at it's weakest where it was hitting and after time just broke.
From my very short experience with IE camber plates, they are exactly as PGT says, POSes. Especially after holding the Vorshlag setup and actually installing them on a friends Cooper. My personal car has IEs adjustable and hopefully they dont cause permanent damage of any kind while i am waiting for the TSW plates to be released. Few weeks back while picking up the Vorshlag plates directly from them, they mentioned that they are now in a situation in refusing to sell the AST 4200 struts to Mini owners. The fronts arent much of an issue if the right plate is used, but the rear "as very odd side binding and is most likely the cause of the failure in that area." With that the KW/Vorshalg combo is VERY nice, and was like butter to install.
CONGRATS!!!!!!:cornut: Did you meet my friend Jeff, running a beige E30 sedan? He was there, too. Which class do you intend to run? - Marc
Did he crash on the last lap of the practice race? I brown E 30 was in the wall at the top of the tunnel turn. I'm not sure where the car fits class wise.
