Oops. Time to call Vorshlag or BC or JRZ for some quality camber plates. The Vorshlag are probably the best of the best in my experience.
Not sure it's really the plate issue... I've had a couple sets of camber plates. Ones that are fine with the stock struts had interference issues with my LEDAs. Seems that not all the aftermarket struts have the same length of threaded shaft. I fixed my Hotchkiss and some RDRs by just milling them out a bit to get the clearance I needed. It's one of those live and learn things. It really sucks that this interference mode also attackes the weakest point on the strut. What sucks is that most camber plates (at least the two sets I had) had more than enough meat to have some clearancing done. But how much would be enough given the range of what's available in the aftermarket? I honestly don't know, but I do know that if I change set up this is one thing I'll check before I go for a drive.... Matt
FWIW, I've seen issues of this nature on other cars that are raced or seriously tracked by a talented driver. There is a difference between parts built for race cars and parts built for street driven cars that see track duty. It is for this reason that race shocks have a pivoting ball at the shock tower rather than a flat junction. Ever take a look at the top of a Koni race shock? Koni North America - Racing Division - Externally adjustable coil over drag shocks Our 8211 Series is an externally double adjustable steel body shock. Custom valvings are avialable, speak to our technical assistants to determine if one is required for your application. Standard attachments are ½" ID bearing on both ends. We can also provide them with a pin on the top. That pivoting ball bearing thing won't be stressed like shocks with regular, flat, non-pivoting attachments are. Good luck with the new setup. This was an issue with using the wrong part for the usage it was being subjected to. I'm sure the same problem would have happened with any other camber plate. I don't understand the negative comments on the IE plates. They do the job at the given price point. So do the Vorshlags and HSports etc. There are more similarities than differences in all of their designs and IE has a longer racing history. I'm running stock plates at the moment but will changing that out soon.

IE doesn't send you a completed product. Holes not fully drilled and tapped. Washers with no instructions. I even emailed them and they were no help. Took 3-4 times of trial/error to get the setup 'right' and even then I had to craft some parts to make it work since the holes weren't tapped all the way.
