K-huevo, did you happen to talk to them about the higher RPM factor? I know most dont go much above 7k maybe 7300 ish for some. I see the chart shows 8k But I am wondering about the 8-10k RPM ranges... :D

Thanks for the additional info K, I must have missed that chart from their website, it is very helpful. Just for kicks it would be nice to also see the twist for a non-damped pulley, you would have to blow out the scale on the y-axis though. It has got to be much worse.

I spoke with ATI this morning about a few things including rpm range; no worries for the Super Damper, it's up to the task.

I visited a respected engine machine shop today for engine post mortem evaluations; the ATI Super Damper gets very high marks especially for overhead cam & chain motors.

I installed the ATI Super Damper on my MCS.

Cool profile, too bad I didn’t line up the timing marks.

The allen head bolt ATI provides with the damper serves as crankshaft thread protector and platform when using a conventional bolt grip puller, plus it's a convenient installation tool. The OEM installer with bearing reduces effort, but the bolt and washer actually work.

Looks like a fine unit K. Anything to report on the operation? Obviously, installation went rather smoothly.

I don't feel buzz through the steering wheel anymore.

Installation was simple, removing my late model OEM pulley was not.

So did you need some kind of special tool to get the oem crank pulley off?

Installation was as easy as tightening the center bolt?

I'm going to have to put off getting a new crank pulley until something goes wrong with mine. (cost issue)

Normally it's not difficult removing the OEM pulley, early or late mode, and lightened aftermarket pulleys are a breeze pull off. My late model OE was a very tight install to begin with; my installer tool bearing froze during installation four years ago, so not the average fitment. Success came after welding nuts to the pulley, so I could use larger bolts to pull with on a robust bolt grip puller, and firm hammer strikes to the extractor bolt while under tension.

Why, it is just 1% larger? What is the big deal?

IIRC, they made it a whiff larger to accommodate the generic size damper hub.

Yes, it is understood why it was made a whiff larger, but why are you bummed? Why does that whiff make you bummed?

There's no good reason to make the alternator, a/c compressor, or supercharger [w/15%] spin any faster than they already do. The minutely increased angular momentum also annoys the OCD-side of me.

Ok, they're not very good reasons. I'll just sit here with my box of Kleenex 'til I get over it.

There are many things to get all OCD about, I have a long list myself. This just does not seem to be on my list.

It's gonna be OK, just relax and breath deeply.

More seriously, you do have a point about the revs, I think my higher rev limiter and track days were instrumental in sending one AC compressor to an early grave, and I would guess the alternator is not too happy with its similar treatment as well.

At least this 1% comes with more boost, I know, I know it also comes with more heat and more SC wear out.

Still.......this looks like a great damper replacement.
