Fuel rail leak. connector to the flex line popped off and sprayed a mist of delicious distillates of petroleum on the ignition coil and header. At least he got the stance in the front the way he wanted it. Low and slow, baby.

That could have been because of many things, including the previous owner did some shady wiring or work to the car.
That's a shame, I was looking forward to seeing an F56 BBQ. -
Hmmm...I would have immediately lept to the now infamous 1st Gen EHPS Pump as root cause, but that doesn't really correlate with the smell of fuel as a precursor.
