I see from your previous posts that you have an R56 Cooper D in the UK.
The problem is that this is a U.S. based forum, and there might not be anybody here who has experience with your issues. MINI diesel models are still not available here in the U.S., and the auto start-stop feature was not in U.S. spec until this year with the F56. -

I had a BMW 328 automatic with the auto start/stop feature. If I was in the city with a lot of stop lights it would auto start/stop at the first couple of red lights then the auto stop would quit and the car would stay running.
I think the system will nullify if there are too many start/stops within a short period of time due to battery charge levels.
There was a setting on the turn signal stalk to allow start/stop or not.
