New, both of mine went down 1/2 inch, but after being reprogrammed by the dealer, they only go 1/8 inch. I just live with it.

Why did they reprogram?

 

Both went 1/2 when I got the car. The passenger window stopped working, so they fixed it and it only went down 1/8, while drivers side went 1/2. I told them that was not right, so they did it again and now both only go 1/8. Clearly, close was good enough in their book, so I stopped while I was ahead.

To be honest, my dealership is very nice, SA's are top notch and the parts folks are great. It is the service department that bothers me. They are friendly, act like they want to help, but it seems like 70% is good enough. As long as it is close, it does not have to be perfect, but that seems to be the norm now days. :frown2:

When this first developed as a problem, there were a number of possible fixes from changing the module to reprogramming. This is purely MY opinion and based on nothing concrete, but from what I have read, changing the module is what really works. The reprogram gives you the 1/8 rather then the 1/2 and is the easy way out.
