Although this is most likely an isolated event, I'm reporting it nonetheless.

I just posted a reply to a thread and i was taken to a page stating that I must wait 30 seconds between posts. It showed what I was about to post in a text box, and the same thing in "cement" just below atop the list of replys. I only clicked once like usual, but the thing thought I wanted to double post, at the same time, or something.

    That's a new one on me...sort of.

Nathan's been looking for the cause of a double posting problem for months, but as far as I know it's been more automatic than you experienced. That is, you click once and instantly end up with two identical posts rather than being taken to an intermediary page.

It just happened again, same as before. The first time was in my 'something new and different' thread, and this time was in my 'its an art gallery, i think' thread.

Sometimes when one uses the quick reply an error is tossed and there is a double post. I've been working with someone and we have been chasing this for months. There has been no rhyme or reason that we have been able to find as of yet.

Has happened to me also, but I just get the "can't post for another 30 sec" warning.

I know every time it happens, an email is dispatched to me with notification of a SQL error, but even with that as a trace it has proved elusive to catch being it is very rare and random. It's being tossed by some custom software we wrote but we have dozens of other sites we've sold the software to that are not having this issue.

Cross your fingers that it is something in the mySQL build on the current server that will go away with the move.
