I currently have the Ipod input under the toggle switches on my R56. Problem is, I don't have an Ipod and don't plan to get one....it wont recognize my phone being plugged in, so what I'm wondering is where I can get something to switch the Ipod input out for just a regular AUX input if possible.
My 2009 had both a USB and AUX next to each other. I could just plug in to the AUX port when not using my iPod.
That's what mine has but when I select audio it doesn't show the option for AUX. Only for USB (and that wont read anything I plug in either) Thought it must just be for Ipod. I've taken the whole dash apart and checked the plug in the back...
That will work out for my Android tablet but I don't have music on my phone bc I always just use the apps.
I use my USB thumb drive but I have also plugged my Motorola Droid Bionic into the AUX port and played music.
No it won't, unless you have MINI Connected and an iPhone. If you plug in a USB memory stick loaded with mp3 songs (or an Android phone with songs loaded on the SD card), it should see them. If it doesn't, and given that you can't select aux mode, it seems that something is wrong with the component.
Mine is doing the exact same thing. The dealer said that it is probably just a fuse which blew but in my case the car is still under warranty so I am going to let them deal with it.
There are several items involved and it's hard to know exactly which one might be the problem. There is the Aux/USB socket, a cable to the USB module, the USB module, another cable to the headunit, and the headunit itself.
Well I've come to the conclusion so far that it is not any fuses. Took the socket itself out and it has no fuses. I see nothing wrong with any of the wiring all the way up to the stereo. I'm baffled.
Messed with this in our new 2012, CM yesterday. I plugged the "Y" cable into both "AUX" and "USB", plugged the other end into my iPhone and hit "mode". I got all the normal choices including "AUX", which I selected and it Pandora played just fine over the car stereo. Then I plugged my wife's iPhone in and the choices did not give me "AUX", but it did give one for "iPod". I selected that and it played Pandora just fine, but it also displayed which song Pandora was playing on the radio. The difference was, that her iPhone is synced to the OEM hands free in the car and mine isn't. Try selecting "iPod" and give it a minute to sync up. It should work. Jim
I don't have the Ipod option, or an Ipod. I've got Stereo, Sat, CD, USB. The only selectable options are Stereo and CD. Even when I have the USB plugged into my phone (Android)
It wouldn't be. But there's no reason just a 3.5 male to male cord wouldn't work. Plus I don't have the AUX option. Ima take it my dealer and see if they might know anything about it at the service center.
