And Dick, my engine mods will be pretty similar to your CURRENT mods, so I'm sure you'll be able to help me out.
MINI5280 does have a section on here, but FB is where everybody posts now... We have 2 or 3 different pages... Bring the GF... We are all friendly for the most part... (Myself excluded) The Dragon isnt something you do on a whim... Save up and plan for next year is your best bet.
There is an inner struggle in me now. Should I get a FB and talk to 5280 or should I stay stubborn and refuse? I..... Can't.... Do it! lol Hahah. I'll try to avoid the rust bucket with the grouchy veteran driving it. I'll probably take some time to upgrade Joni (Pronounced Joe-Knee) before joining you all.
Here's a more flattering picture of Joni right after I got her, at my house. Ignore the smiling buffoon blocking the view.
The mods are starting off strong!! I just took off the front license plate holder after getting Joni insured and registered. Haha. Need something to fill in those little holes now.... Dick, I need some Bondo.
I ran into a guy at the DMV today who owns two M5s. He showed me his 2000 M5 manual, Dinan tuned, and pictures of his '08 M5 with 70k of Dinan goodies. He offered to race. Lol.
For those holes you need a urethane filler if they bother you that much. Most people don't notice them on the darker colors unless you don't clean the wax out of them.
Haha. No they really don't. I was joking about the Bondo. Maybe when I've done everything else to my car I'll fill those holes. And they're all cleaned out.
Seriously though, I have to get these Blizzaks off. I haven't been home since I got the car really. Got home at midnight, slept, woke up, and started moving again. The only reason I've been able to post here is that Statistics and Calculus are a bit boring. I honestly don't even know if my wheels are the same size. And I haven't even taken the "Roller Babes Denver" sticker off the rear window. Hahaha.
DAY-UMMMMMMMMMMMMM..."the Dragon isn't something you do on a whim"???? WTF??? I sure wish someone had told me that when I first ventured down in Oct., '04, in my R50 cvt with a group from MI. OMGGGGG, at the time [late at night thru all those curves to Deal's Gap, and then down Hellbender to Fontana], I swore I would NEVER, EVER go back! I have been coming back every year since then, and twice in 2007! Nope...come on down with Dick and Co.! You will NEVER regret it!
LOL! Get a razor blade ASAP! Then check to see if the nice black wheels are 17"s... If they are, give Sleek Motoring a call, I'm sure he would swap them for a good price.
Haha. we'll see what I can do for my car by then. But I do want some goodies on it before I go, and I may not have too much spare cash on me. But you might be seeing Sabian and I coming down with 5280 and Dick and them anyway. I'll just make Sabian pay for my gas.
Already took a razor blade to it for about 15 minutes, and nothing. I'm thinking a hair dryer is in order. Or maybe I'll keep it. No, not really. Good idea! I'll cry and moan and tell him how much it would mean to me and how I'm a poor college student and how registration and plates was over FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS () maybe he'll do it for free! EDIT: Besides, no self-respecting car modifier would EVER let the stock wheels have the summers, and the gorgeous wheels have the winters. Maybe he'll be so disgraced when he sees it he'll just do it for the sake of the world. Haha.
EMERGENCY POST!!! I need new summer tires, ASAP, if not sooner. I have to drive up to Denver tomorrow, and mt summer tires are apparently about to blow up. Joseph at Sleek Motoring can fit me in tomorrow, but I need to know the best tire value. I just want some performance summer tires that won't cost a ton and will last me as long as possible. I like chunky tires if possible (wide tires and thick sidewalls). I'm currently running 205/45/17. What's my best bet, gentleman?? EDIT Joseph says Bridgestone Pole Positions are my best bet.
Nevermind, it's all good. Joe at Sleek Motoring cut me a good deal on some Continentals that came with his new rims. Not enough money to pick them up ATM (Taxes are killer..), but I'll be going in Monday for fitment to my Prag wheels, and they'll throw the Blizzaks on my S-Lites. Side note, anyone who lives in or near Colorado really ought to go meet the gentlemen at Sleek Motoring. Awesome crew who knows their stuff. Unfortunately, that means that Joe had to tell me to get some Powerflex bushings... *Sigh* Other than that he said it's clean and in good shape.
I like to keep all my threads on the same update level, because OCD. Today I finally got the "Roller Denver Dolls" sticker off of my rear window. My car instantly gained 20 hp and a deeper exhaust note. Also, I might go in and get the One-Ball mod on Joni, since Joe offered to do it dirt cheap. :cornut: It's not my end-goal for the exhaust, but I'm dying for more volume from the rear...
