The radar was definitely looking crazy last night. Luckily it went just north of me! Hope everyone fared well who were in it!

From the Tail of the Dragon Facebook page:

    Tail of the Dragon
New update... Little River Rd is temporarily closed from Elkmont to Townsend due to storm damage. And again.... Cherohala Skyway is temporarily closed because of the storm damage in TN. The Dragon is clear and open, no storm damage.

Hunt's Lodge Motorcycle Campground & Cabins:
The KOA is a pile of debris where the shower house used to be. :-( Fortunately, they had not yet opened for the season, so there were no campers there. We've observed at least two campers that didn't make it through the storm, both unoccupied. There are no reports of loss of life in Tellico Plains, though, which is a good thing.

    So hopefully everyone is ok.

Just drove the dragon going home to Ohio from Georgia. It is completely clear but you can see the storm damage on some of the hills. :(

How did the Countrygal handle the curves, Curves906? I'm more than a bit jealous you got to take a trip on the dragon.

Mother Nature sure can be tough & she seems to be getting meaner weather wise.

The Countrygal handled the curves really well. A couple of curves on Hellbender we could feel the body roll a little bit but that was it. I was thoroughly impressed. We took 75 all the way down to Atlanta so wanted some fun roads for our trip home. :D

We passed two big areas along 75 that were hit by tornados. The destruction was horrible. Only rubble where large rows of houses used to be and trees snapped off everywhere. There was even a trailer home completely crushed and twisted just barely off to the side of the highway. :(
