Definitely interested in something like this!

I would like to see the following info:
    > Picture (of course)
    > Badge (design) name
    > Is it custom or commercially available?
    > If custom: Does the owner have badges for trade/otherwise available? A little info about design (your "inspiration", maybe mention person(s) who helped design it, etc.)
    > If commercial, what vendor sold them?
    > If it is from a MINI or Club event: a little info on event.

I can model this a few ways...

One Badge per page or multiple badges per page.

Would this be something that sponsors should have access to as well to show off all the badges they produce?

I like having an index page for each person with thumbnails for each badge that you could click to open the badge info. Since the badge info wouldn't be as indepth as a MINIs description, maybe when you click the link it opens a smaller window with the badge image & info (similar to how the wheel images are opened in an individual's Wheel Finder entries).

As for the vendors, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I would really like for them to have their designs shown, but I wouldn't want the section to have the appearance of an advertising section. Overall, I would prefer it to be more a user-oriented section. Could you have a vendor subsection where they could display their products?

Ok, that's a bit beyond the capabilities of the tool, While it is very complex there is no ability for the if-then type statements.

If I create a data model would be interested in testing it and giving feedback?

    Sure, I'll test it.

It doesn't have to be that complex. I was thinking of the information that I would like to see. The actual program could just have fields available for the user to input descriptive info about each badge. Fields could be name, where did you get badge, and a field for any additional information.

Seems like you might be able to use the same sort of list without needing the tool to handle if-thens. Just include all the fields as optional and the member fills in all that apply. Include a line that says something like "Fill in all applicable fields." Then (using Mishka's suggestions) add headings and subfields where you need them sort of like...

    If custom:
Is this your design? If so, include a little info about your design (your "inspiration," maybe mention person(s) who helped design it, etc.).
Do you have badges for trade/otherwise available?
If not your design, where did you get this badge?

Is it (or was it) commercially available?
If so, what vendor sells (or sold) them?
    Website:

Is it from a MINI or Club event?
If so, a little info on event.
    etc

    just thinking...

    Great idea!

How about expanding the database to collectibles in general?
(Ha ha, sorry. I know I'm making things more complex...)

Ok, have a basic data model built. I need to make some permission changes and upload a file that needs to be sent to me from someone else. As soon as I have that in place I'll send ya'll a PM to start testing.

Who else wants in on the test phase?

Lets see how this goes and if there is desire we can create one for other collectibles as well. Being badges are so prevalent with MINI owners I'm thinking this should be it's own category.

One thing: will there also be a "Badge Whore" :ihih: area for those with more than the allotted number of badges in their collections?

So what number would that be?
