I'd have to ask you do you live where you get rain & snow? Do you drive the MINI in those conditions? Are those oem runflats?
Waiting for your reply...

Those aren't bald. They arent even to the wearbars. From my phone they don't look feathered either.

Those tires definitely are NOT bald or feathered...
I wonder if a "shop" told her they needed to be replaced due to "balding & feathering"?
If yes, I wouldn't give that shop any business. -

I see very slight feathering, but certainly nothing that warrants replacement. Maybe the addition of camber platesand a little less toe in the alignment. You got A LOT of life left in those from what is seen in the photos.

Depends on where & when the OP is going to run those. On a dry road they would work fine. In heavy rain not so much, in snow, not at all.

If anything, I would say those are run slightly over inflated. Looks like they have about 6/32nds of rubber left on them. But feathering? I just don't think so.

Maybe take them to the track & finish them off. Sounds like a fun way to need new tires.

Me thinks you're being had. -
she uses them for summer driving, she is on a winter set right now. She has been able to get away with summers until now as the weather has been incredible.
yes they are the oem runflats
Thanks for all of your input...you have confirmed what I had suspected

I always put good tires on my wife's car. That being said for the stated use I wouldn't be replacing those yet.
Winter tires FTW! -
Yes to this:
...but as others have suggested it seems a bit of an extreme description for your SSRs. Motor on. :cornut:
