I found something called Wizard's Black Renew. Is that what you're using? I really hate masking.

This was the first time I did it and I hope the last. Almost took longer then applying the wax. My door handle covers were getting very faded, almost gray, and a couple coats of Back to Black made them look new. I saw Mother's products mentioned in another thread, so when I saw this in the store, I decided to try it.

I think there are better products than Mother's, but I think Mother's is OK. Not to worry.

You should try the 303 Protectant stuff. Very long lasting and no dust magnet.

The Griots stuff is water based and is not supposed to leave any residue on the black plastic. I haven't tried it (Love my Zaino stuff) but some of the others in the PDX club have used it.

I'm really confused. Banana Gloss dries in less than a minute. Barely enough time to apply it and wipe it off before it dries. I never tape when I wax, only when I polish. When I get near any rubber or plastic pieces, I don't apply a full amount on to the applicator...keep the product in middle of the panel...say I'm applying it to the area around the sunroof...apply the full application in the largest area of paint towards the center and work your way out to the edges so you have less chance of product spilling into adjacent areas.

Products like Hydro or Hydro Seal also don't leave residues so if you want to try something else that's quick but not creamy, both of those products will give you that.

I simple fix is to take the waste oil from your engine & use it to gloss up the old girl. :p

Better yet I think both of us should head over to Richard's detail clinic. :)

Banana Gloss seems to perform several functions...although I will probably go a more comprehensive program, could BG replace the combo of Amigo and Epic?

Banana Gloss is a light wax.
Amigo is a "filler" for lack of a better term, and Epic is a sealant.
    All 3 are different.

The marketing on their website says:

This left me with the sense that BG is targetted as a "jack of all trades, master of none". Did I get suckered by their sales people? Or is this just a description of waxes in general?

I always use BG as a final light wax. I use it AFTER Epic. I don't believe it has the same properties as a sealant.
Plus I love how it makes my BRG shine.... it seems to love dark colors.

Hey, if you like it, keep using it. Otherwise, try something else.
Not like you have to use it, right?

The best idea is to do pay attention while waxing and not put wax on black trim from the beginning.

If a mistake happens from time to tme I use Pre WOW and the issue is gone.

I don't even own it yet

I need to detail my current car to get it ready to sell and make room for the MINI, but car repairs have me a bit short to get a full compliment of products, so I was looking for biggest bang for the buck within the Prima line. That's all. I appreciate the input.

Gil, did you sacrifice the Hatchback for a new Roadster? :)

On topic, I will be doing a winter application of Banana Gloss to the Countryman since it really brings out the depth and glow on the Oxford Green. It will last until about April. :)

Then I will Epic and BG both MINIs and finish with the Hydro/Hydro Seal blend that Chuck Maybee and I are both using. 3/4 to 1/4 HS. :)

    Brilliant!!!
When you mix the 2, does it allow you to spray it on? How long do you let it sit before wiping?
