Driving up the price of the collector car hobby. Who knew there was even a niche for these turds?!

    1990 YUGO GVC Lot 722 | Barrett-Jackson Auction Company

Ummmm... It sold for $11,000... Did that include a tow truck and a years subscription to "I'm a complete Idiot" magazine?

If I had to do an FBI profile on him I'd say he's the kind of guy who is a hoarder with pathways leading to the only 2 rooms in his doublewide that aren't piled high with child pornography.

He has a My Little Pony collection mint in all the boxes.

He was the body image model for the original Cabbage Patch Kids.

He spends long, sleepless nights setting naked on the edge of his bed, rocking back and forth, smearing on lipstick saying "I'm a pretty princess" over and over again.

But I could be wrong. :biggrin5:

What does an Edsel go for at auction nowadays? The Yugo could be the Edsel of the future. How many could there be still runing? It's a piece of crap but if its the last running Yugo piece of crap left on earth, how much will a collector drop on it?

And I just remembered some guys going nuts over a restored AMC Matador at a car show once.

Any rare long gone car is going to draw interest me thinks. I'd have been staring at that Matador too.

If these cars are survivors that is one thing, if someone restored one, well that's just nutz. :eek:ut: But as they say different strokes.

No lie. I used to work with some guys that were into eastern europe cars. They actually used to buy and sell the same yugo back and forth. :)

One would get bored with it and sell it to the other. They had extra cars for parts. It was a hoot. They drove the heck outta that thing...

Hay that's hurts. I have owned a couple Fiats. A 1958 Fiat Abarth 750 and a 1979 x1/9. I had done a lot to the X1/9 big valve head, hi cop. pistons, balanced the engine, and lower stiffer springs. To name a few.

I don't look like a Cabbage Patch kid and I don't have any My Little Pony collection.

Does My Little Pony PJ's count? :biggrin5:

OK OK I have to admit I once owned a Yugo. And I liked it. There I said it.
    :eek6:
It was 23 years ago. We need a car and being married only 2 years I did not have much cash. So I found a Yugo for $750 in pristine condition no less. I drove it till I finished rebuilding the motor on my Alfa Romeo Spider. Then I sold it for what I payed for it.

But some times late at night I still think about my Yugo and what might have been. Just think, I could have sold it to some Idiot of $11,000 :drool
