Just saw this tweet in an article I was reading... Davey B @notquiteaslice News crews still sit waiting outside the #BBC to see what colour smoke comes out of the chimney to signify their #Clarkson decision. 7:48 AM - 25 Mar 2015
Per that paragon of news, CNN: "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed, the BBC said after an internal investigation into what it earlier called a "fracas" with a producer.
And here Top Gear ends, at least for me. If Clarkson is pitching a new show, maybe they'll tweak it into something fresher and interesting. Hopefully he gets a little humility, not enough to ruin his sense of humor, but enough to quit acting like such a buffoon at times. And here's hoping May and Hammond rejoin him. No reason why they couldn't, all their contracts are up.
Well, at least he'll have more time to be on QI [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8US3Snx5L3c&spfreload=10"]Qi XL L Series Episode 13: Lucky Losers [HD] - YouTube[/ame]
Just read the official release Transmission – BBC Top Gear BBC releases statement on Clarkson « - BBC Top Gear I don't see James and Richard coming back, so it looks like another re-boot like when the 3 of them became a trio in 2002. I don't think this is bad, I liken it to late night talk shows (you have iconic host that many say can't be replaced and yet they are and the shows continue on). I could see something like this working: Journalist - Chris Harris Entertainer - Chris Evans or Jay Kay Race Driver - One of the Chilton brothers I could also see adding a female presenter as well (Susie Wolfe comes to mind).
He has been brought up in this thread before and I would agree that he doesn't have the sense of humor that we have been use to. I still think he does an incredible job of reviewing cars.
Now that there is funny. I'd have thought the death would have come from Clarkson consuming all the oxygen or possibly from hot air emitted by Clarkson. I like Clarkson, but if I never see him again I'm OK with it.
What a friggin' waste. But you simply cannot lay hands on fellow employees no matter who you are. He could've probably gotten away with the verbal confrontation, but punching someone in the mouth, he left the BBC with no other option. Once it gets physical, it crosses the line.
Hmmmm.... Don't the police make arrests on unprovoked physical attacks in Britain? Ah yes.... They have a class society... Don't they have any amberlance chasin Barristers?

Great article by Chris Harris http://jalopnik.com/how-top-gear-made-us-all-care-about-cars-1688464737
Nice article--I'm appreciating Chris Harris more each day. And if he believes what he wrote, you can pretty much count him out as a Top Gear host.
Respected or not, something provoked Clarkson. The little Twit probably had it coming a long time ago. Poor little Producer...
