Yeah, it is good to see. Richard and James owe their success at least to a degree to Clarkson. So while they are collateral damage (at least for now), they wouldn't have been a part of a hugely popular show without Clarkson, who was huge in rebuilding the show. I suspect we'll see the three again sooner rather than later. Hopefully new, improved, and without further boneheaded moves.
James has been doing historical shows for years, and Richard had his own car show. Both could survive without Clarkson - but they'd for sure make more $$$ with him. In this case, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Read today Clarkson is already working on a new show. Any predictions on which will do better: Clarkson's new show, or the revised Top Gear? I don't think it'll even be close...
I agree, and the fact that May and Hammond stand a pretty good chance of joining up doesn't hurt things.
Aaand they're in talks. Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond with Top Gear's Andy Wilman | Daily Mail Online My prediction: a direct-to-internet production. I also predict that BBC will try to revive TG with some warmed-over car journos like Tiff Needell or the like and it will last for two seasons.
We should pick an over and under on how many seasons the BBC's Top Gear makes it. Two seasons sounds about right for the cut off.
We'll see: "Both the public and close allies of Clarkson have expressed deep discontent with the BBC's decision to cut the host. As a result, producer Andy Wilman has also left the show, BBC confirms. Wilman helped Clarkson reinvent the show after coming close to flopping 15 years ago. The duo reportedly brainstormed new ways to refresh the broadcast and helped it gain the global notoriety it has today." See that part about the show almost flopping 15 years ago, and remember the two year hiatus they took to fix it? And the part about the public's discontent? And the fact that Clarkson is working on a new show, most likely involving May and Hammond? I'll stick with two years or less for the win.
