I wonder what it's used for? It's obviously not a piston connecting rod, as both ends appear to connect to bearing surfaces. On second thought, if the open end connects to the piston wrist pin, that's gotta be one humongous piston?
We used to do some contract work for the Columbus Water Treatment facility over at the Jackson Pike location on the south side. Man did that place have a nasty "Stank" to it. My daughter, who was 5 years old at the time, always asked me why I smelled like poo, so I stopped doing that kind of work. Anyway, I digress....
In one of the separate buildings in the complex they had a self sufficient power station to keep the pumps running in case of a power outage. I never saw it running, but they had a WWII diesel submarine engine that was connected to a generator. That was really something to see. I would have given anything to hear it run.
