The BavTech tool did not come with instructions but it was easy enough to figure out. I found that the USB / OBD2 cable was sometimes tricky to get the PC to communicate with BavTech tool. I just gave my old netbook with the older BavTech software on it to my buddy yesterday since he has a cable but BavTech Sw does not support the lastest version of Windows with updates he added.
Yea I was afraid of that. I have to keep a old version of Windows around for my 88M5 software.. specifically XP.
I bought the dvd rom version of the Bentley manual for my new to me 2008 VW Passat, it needed a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer to be able to view it. I tried compatibility mode on my Windows 10 computer and it was a no go. I ended up making an old windows Vista laptop into a Windows XP computer, so I can now view the shop manual. What a pain in the butt!
Couldn't agree more - working through that right now. Turns out none of the battery's work on my old stash of laptops.. so have to figure that one out.
Agree - these are the old IBM machines. Just have to look the battery up and put a HD back in them. I have to much computer stuff in my house it appears.
Thanks - I literally have a stack of drives so no need to check. More about me taking the time to do it. We are doing thanksgiving for wife's family today.. so I'm cooking a good bit of the day.
So I guess the wife's family can look forward to a stomach pumping sensation later? I just hope I get back home. I was scheduled to get home at 11:10PM tonight but the plane broke and is in rout to Bogota now then another crew brings it to Panama where we pick it up. Now I won't get back till 1:30am. I just hope it doesn't brake agin.
