I tried the do not wash sign, didn't work.
What saved me was the on/off switch of a clutch. After I watched the lot guy stall the car 5 times trying to take it the car wash area he gave up.-

Stop running over VWs!
I'm sure you are using the best detailing products and are more experienced than I. So I'll just say that Prima Hydro Seal and Hydro have helped me tremendously with the Florida bugs, partucularly our "love-bugs." Since using these products the bugs rinse of easily.
I'm just learning about detailing though. I'm thinking of asking Santa for a Porter Cable. Husband's reaction - :rolleyes5:
Good luck!-

Jim... You need to look at those bugs closely. If they are the Dragon bugs, then you might want to ask the wife why its taking her so long to pick up that gallon of milk....

Bug guts & bird carp can etch the paint. That is my guess as to what has happened.
Babs clubster had a bird bomb the bonnet. I cleaned it as soon as I saw it, but it was in the paint. I removed it today with my Griots machine polisher & polish 1 through 3. All gone. -

Babs MINI had 2 fresh coats of Prima Epic on it & the bird bomb ate through it. Having a good coat of protection really does help as Lil Wing says. I keep a small touch up detail kit in all of our cars. As soon as you see some carp on there clean it NOW! Babs tends to not notice such things so it is up to me to be on bird carp patrol.
I have a Griots random orbital & it works well. If I was to buy today I'd buy a Porter Cable from Octane Guy.
There are lots of good instructional videos on detailing. Learn a bit before you go at your MINI with power tools. First thing is to learn how to wash correctly. Doing so will keep you from installing scratches in your MINI as you wash. Good luck. -
If you have any bug and tar remover that works well too.
I just bought myself a buffer.... still need to try it out. But my good buddy Dave.0 gave me lessons on it already and he's my detailing guru
I need to buy some waxes still  -

The commercial bug & tar remover as an abrasive in it. Be careful lest you end up with scratches in the clear coat. FWIW I would use kerosene or WD40.

You should have seen the look on Richard's face when he offered me a towel to use on Little Wing at the MOTD car wash station and I said, "No thanks. I'll just drive around until it's dry." :frown2:
These premium products are really great, but the fact remains that getting bad stuff off the car ASAP is important. They make it a whole lot easier to get the bad stuff off though. Our love bugs eat holes right through the paint.
I have much to learn.
Oh, another thing, I don't know what Octane Guy would say, but wet wipes/baby wipes are really handy at getting something nasty off the paint until you get home and can properly attend to it.
I don't mind doing cars, but I don't do breakfast, and I only wash my own laundry. God help any of the 3 males around here if they touch my laundry. :mad5: I don't touch theirs. -
Yeah, I have a long way to go before I take power tools to my car. Figure I'll start on the husband's Avalon.
I used to be proud of every swirl because it showed that I did so wash the car! -

Note if you do it by hand it will take much longer but it will work.
Happy polishing.
 You could also trade your car for an S.JuSta Jim :ihih::lol:

Did you get them off?
What did you end up using? -
