BIGGER is BETTER!!! A FAQ on the Bosch 550cc injectors for R53

Mark, I am sure I can locate on several posts on forum,s that you stated you were happy with your MINI and not looking to change out more parts?
The thought of bigger injectors/more power(?) must have you re thinking those comments than?

When you increase horsepower to an engine you may need to change out other relative parts involved. Not just one part but many may need to be upgraded or changed?
In the case of installing larger new high quality injectors the one big attribute is having an injector running on less duty cycle and more available fuel if demands are there. Especially on a engine that is run spiritedly and such a small small investment.Seems reasonable? And if the benefits are an increase in power than you win both ways, safety and power...seems easy for me to grasp that idea!

 

Well how about this:

If a Mini motor is custom tuned by any tuner to its Max (sweet tune!) and everything including the injectors are operating in the correct ranges; would then installing larger injectors and nothing else, allow the tuner to get more power?

Answers from those with and/or actually do custom tuning would be thought of most highly.

 

Well mark...From a stand point if you can feed an engine more fuel/air and can get ignited than you will make more power!!!

I will leave MYNES to post the tuning aspect because at this present time we can not call me an ECU tuner..

It would still be nice to have it on the dyno plots to prove an undersized injector can't keep the WOT AFR below 11.0-11.7. That really is the key metric.

On a different note......we had the pleasure of hosting Mike and Jay today at Custom Mini Shop for a Byetronic Full Access, hope I spelled that right, tutorial. All I can say is :eek6: Jay is "THE MAN" when it comes to ECU access and tuning. He showed comparisons to the other software out there.........people there is NO comparison out there. Like my bud Fracky said, "it's like the Matrix" :lol: Fun day was had
