Would the direct injection throw a level of complexity in for the R56 application?

Yeah, that's a totally different ball game. Somebody should start a new thread on that topic.

We found this to be a FFP (Frequently Failed Part)... This was removed from a 2006 MCS; so if your MINI is older and you still have this factory part, check it and change it. This goes from the FPR to the bottom of the inlet horn. We like to use silicon hose with zip ties as a replacement and you can use whatever you like ;)

Thats not a spark plug wire.

Its the vacuum line for the fuel pressure regulator.

It holds its shape because its plastic.

OK, folks. Let's not all jump on at the same time. Glass house and rocks. But it was pretty funny. Now, lets move on.

:cornut:The Cheapest Spark Plug wires on my 08 R56 MCS/JCW are $600(that I have found). Something about each individual wire having it's own internal coil? Is this correct? Any way @ that price,I won't be replacing them any time soon.(there you're off the hook now):cornut::Thumbsup:

No. The item pictured is a stock vacuum line that has become brittle and on the verge of failure... has nothing to do with Dinan.

I asume the IC needs to be pulled to check this part?

I'm pretty sure that is a yes. If I remember correctly, this is where most people I've heard of tap in their mechanical boost gauge.

Correct. You most likely need to remove the fuel rail as well :(

That's why we always change out this part when we do the injector upgrades.

Ive done some work on minis and never really had any problems with this part. are you sure that you are disconnecting them when you pull the fuel rail or are you breaking it when you pull the fuel rail off the car? thats the only way that i can see it getting broken.

If you don't have problems with this part, then this post doesn't apply to you then.

I have only worked on a 'few' MINIs, what do i know  I'm only posting what i am seeing, take it or leave it :cornut:

OK so why complain about his own thread? If Mike wants to help the community with anything why question it? It's getting to the point where vendors, mechanics are not going to share information anymore :(

    OK Ok....lets settle down please.

I'm glad Mike did share the info and I also agree with Colin about where the info is. In a more perfect world that image and the text that goes along with would be best served in a separate thread espousing on the virtues of checking that line at times when say one might have pulled the I/C to clean it.

    Lets let it go...

Alright boys, put your dicks away, this pissing contest is over.

Just kidding. I just wanted my first post on here to be special, and after reading the full 19 pages there was no way I could leave without making my mark and saying something stupid.

But...What is the benefit of 440's or 380's over 550's? Everyone has been arguing the converse, but why shell out money for a part you will likely have to upgrade later? Unless you like spending money on parts. It's like Oprah buying pants without an elastic waistband, you're more than likely to outgrow them.

Mr. Jan, the dynojet we use is eddy current 4-wheel drive dynojet. FACT! Wasn't really going to waste my time letting you know that. Just for future customer reference if they are wondering. Happy Motoring
