    This may be jumping ahead, but do they provide a list of BRP closures ahead of time? The last time we were in Gatlinburg, we trekked down to the BRP, aiming to do the entire southern half - but reached close to Asheville and were detoured off which really threw off our plans.

    Just curious, because we still haven't seen from Asheville to Fancy Gap and would really consider attending this :)

    NOT with THMMC but from past history : the drivers self-select to be in one of three groups - Bear, Wolf and Otter. Those groups are arranged in order of increasing driving spirit. Bear hits almost all of the scenic and shopping spots along the parkway - and Otter group mostly uses the parkway to allow the brakes to cool down.:biggrin5:

    http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/ is usually pretty good about keeping up with closures here : HERE. THMMC will be up-to-date on the latest info.
