Hilliard, Ohio Nov. 9, 2012 – Based on survey of its Hilliard associates, BMW Group Financial Services Regional Service Center has been named one of the top five Columbus Business First’s Best Places to Work in Central Ohio.

“This award truly encompasses and rewards the spirit of our organization at all of our locations,” said Ed Robinson, BMW Group Financial Services President and CEO. “While we strive to provide our associates with a positive work environment, this award is more than simply a recognition of physical elements or reward/recognition systems; it speaks to an environment of inclusion and work/life balance that each one of our associates contributes to on a daily basis.

“Our management team understands that having an atmosphere and culture where associates enjoy contributing every day results in a positive environment and therefore creates good experiences for our associates and our customers.”

Columbus Business First retained Quantam Workplace to conduct the 30-question survey of company associates, with firms ranked against others of similar size. BMW Group Financial Services 800 Ohio associates represented the business against other large companies in the area.

“Next year will be our 20th here and we have worked steadily during these past two decades to create a more enjoyable atmosphere than the average workplace,” explained Wayne Orchowski, BMW Group Financial Services COO. “One of the BMW Group basic principles states: ‘People make companies. Our associates are the strongest factor in our success. We understand the importance of treating everyone here as more than just employees – we are all part of a family. This kind of atmosphere produces both more satisfied associates as well as ones which perform better, so it is a ‘win, win’ for everyone.

“And this positive environment creates good things for our customers, as shown by the 27 J.D. Power & Associates awards – including two in 2012 – we have won for excellent service, as determined by our dealer customers.”
The company just opened an on-site 2,036-square-foot health center, including laboratory, staffed with a nurse practitioner and medical assistant for covered associates and their families. This joins other on-site benefits like the Body Shop, a fitness center, and the Pit Stop, a break room filled with video games, computers offering personal online access, magazines and recliners, as well as areas with a pool and Ping-Pong tables to allow associates to “get away” from their work space when on break.
Facilities like these, as well as the spirit engendered by the relaxed open-work environment result in a mixture of English, Spanish and French phrases and conversations being heard throughout the building (the Hilliard operation services business throughout the Americas).

“We try to create and maintain a work environment where associates enjoy coming to work every day and contributing to our success, added Orchowski.”

Probably not, but there are a lot of MINIs in their parking lot. Some of the people here get pre-import cars to drive and learn about them before they go on sale so they can answer questions. My friend is driving a diesel SUV right now that is a future product.
