Checked the bump-stops on the hatch to see if you can recess them farther?
If you're convinced it's air pressure, try cracking a window and repeat closing it.
If it doesn't change anything, you're back to a latch alignment or bump-stop details.

I've also found the strings & balls getting in the wrong place occasionally causing the boot to not want to close.
By all means keep the boot hinges lubed. If they start binding they will fatigue the metal & they will break. -
