I will be doing that. The code reader I have will do the ABS cycle. The good part is I will know I got all the air and have fresh fluid.

When I replaced mine, I also had the “Brake Fluid Flush with ABS Cycle” procedure done. This required the MINI to be hooked up to a laptop and the ABS valves cycled and different caliper bled at different times. Lovely BMW system. While this was kinda a pain, I feel it was necessary. The brakes were perfect when finished and I have done 2-3 fluid replacements the old school way since. (But I track my MINI and replace my high temp fluid yearly)

Bleeding the ABS unit makes a world of difference and the Foxwell NT510 scanner does a good job. They cost around $150.

Isn't that how MA was founded? :D

TYVM. I've put that on my Amazon wish list. I've got a cheapie ODB2 reader that I carry in the boot... this would be a nice upgrade one of these days... maybe once my wallet stops hurting from the clutch / LSD / PS Pump replacement that starts next week.

You won’t regret it. It’s a great tool right after I bought it I used it to register the battery in my wife’s R56 and my R58. That paid for it.

Thanks @colinmini. The R53 is now my every day car, most of the hard driving is saved for the Helmet, it will be getting the high temp fluid.
