    Almost same story here, BMW instead of VW and Mini and now so amazingly happy. Hope forum members will treat us well :) sure they will. Welcome on board

    I am in Burlington. We go all over the state. Sometimes north, sometimes south, sometimes in the "netherworld" call Central Jersey, where ever that might be.:crazy:

    I had a 1982 VW Rabbit S bought new until 2003 when I got my MINI.
    My wife had a VW Camper, then a 1981 Rabbit Convertible, then a 1984
    Rabbit Convertible, then a 2001 VW Cabrio (her current car).

    I still like certain VWs, but don't really like the general direction they take
    with each new generation.

    Welcome to the MINI side.

    I still have my 2001 cabrio but I had a mk2, several mk3 jettas and after 10 years, I decided that the direction that the VW community was heading in, it just wants for me. I guess I'm just a little too conservative for their taste lol
