OK City-dwellers, let's hear from you. Especially my fellow New Yorkers, I'm sure you're familiar with Bumper Bullies. Has enyone ever gotten one for their Mini? If so, I have some questions . . . 1) how does it fit? Is there one small enough? 2) I have an R57, with the tailgate. Do the straps fit underneath the tailgate nicely? 3) Can you buy them at an auto parts store, or only online?
I'd not heard of these but they look like they might be very useful for city dwellers. For anyone else scratching your head like I did, here's an example: More pics here.
I've seen the black round version of this (usually with the logo..Goodyear, Uniroyal and Firestone) used in Southern Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky as a barrier between a car and a pick-up truck when the car runs out of gas and needs pushed into the front yard.:arf: It's not just for City-Slickers (err, Dwellers)
So.....instead of an unsightly mark matching the car that left the bump, you are now guaranteed to be left with an unsightly black mark on your bumper. Might work if you have a black car......
Even the one with the steel cable in the strap? I suppose a bolt cutter would easily foil that added security.
i have a feeling these are going to be the next fad, kinda like unused roof racks and uber cool body kits. now just someone has to make them stylish...
Everytime I drive into NYC I see cars with these stupid things. Also love it when New Yorkers leave the city and head down the turnpike with that thing flapping on the back of the car.
I for one do not take my car into big city's full of stupid drivers that have no idea of how to park a car. That's what the wife's car for.
I have to laugh... We were driving down in FL last week and I saw a clubbie with one of these driving down the road. I had no clue what it was until this... I was trying to figure out where the dude was driving his MINI to need such bodacious mudflaps.
