This a great twisty road, I have run it many times. When it is clear, the views of the ocean from the road as you go up, up, up, to the redwoods are fantastic. We usually go from Highway 1 up Nacimiento Fergusson Road all the way through Fort Hunter Liggett and then north up to King City. You should document Highway 229 east of Atascadero too.

The Central Coast Mini Cooper (CCMC) group did the run about seven months ago so it will probably be a year or more before the CCMC group goes again.
I will get SR-229 posted soon. -

I did this drive many many times back in the 60's, and variations of it. It is a blast! If you do dirt roads then there are possibilities between "D" & "E" to go north to Carmel Valley Rd. Via Arroy Seco Rd. at least there used to be and from what I see now on Google Earth the roads look better!
I was driving these roads in my Triumph (at least it was a British car!).
