I am currently riding on Dunlop Drieza Star Specs and so far I'm loving them. What do you mean by they didn't last? How many miles did you get out of them?

I mean they don't seem to be wearing well.
I bought them used with my current rims.... didn't have too many miles on them when I bought them either, but they seem to be a little slick. -

The Direzas and the RT-615's are both 200 tread wear which is the primary wear factor all things being equal. Neither one should last as long as say 400 tread wear tire, but will handle a lot better.

I'm very happy with my General Exclaim UHPs, and they are not expensive. I have 18K on them and there is still plenty of tread. Much better than the Kumho Ecsta ASXs I had before.

Monica,
What is your intended usage for the summer tires, track, HPDE, autoX?
If you want sticky your not going to get more than 12 to 15K out of summer tires.

If you want something a *little* harder and longer wearing, but still grippy and a great deal... Nitto Neo Gen. Love 'em. Not track tires. But I've abused mine over two track days and many mountain runs. Quiet, predictable, and longer-wearing than Star Specs... but not as grippy.

Second on the Nitto Neo Gen's. Put on a set 6 weeks ago and like em' better and better. All Season UHP.
I hear nothing but good things about the Dunlop's GoalJinky is running.
Lotta folks like the Bridgestone Potenza'a although Bridgestone is like going to 31 flavors, lotsa choices -

I too can recommend the Nitto NeoGens. First tire I put on after the OEM run flats and it was such a difference. I have the Cooper Zeon ZPTs on right now (testing them for Cooper) and they are very similar to the Nittos in grip, ride and wear.
Old81 should be able to tell you how the Nittos ran on the track -
Testing them for Cooper? Do they need a tester for 17" tires?
I'm loving my Michelin Exaltos, would not have loved paying retail for 'em! -

Actually the Neo Gen's are my street setup for summer not my track tire. I will leave them on for this Saturdays lunch laps at HPR.
I'll give you my impression of them at modest speed on Sunday.

The Neo Gens tend to roll over onto the shoulders on the track - even at pretty high pressures. I've completely worn the shoulder blocks off mine. Not a problem on the street, even with very aggressive twisties. But definitely an issue on the track if you drive like I do.

Are you running camber plates Paul? If so how much front camber are you using?

Good point. I'm running IE fixed plates and about -1.6 to -1.9 up front.
Given my driving style, I could definitely run more camber up front on the track, but love the street manners of my current plates.... alas, Blimey just ain't gonna be a real track car. -

The only set that lasted 14 k were the original run flats that came with the car. -
Me too. my Avon's had 14K on them and were still in good shape.
These Falken's have maybe 5K on them and look worn.
Don't know about the run flats that came on the car..... they came off at 1,000 miles
