Has anyone successfully installed a back up camera in a Cabrio? I have one in my Subaru and thought it would be great in the Mini since you can't see diddly out the rear view mirror. While I've gotten pretty good at using the side mirrors and paying very close attention, I was thinking that a camera/rear view mirror thing would be great. And it would beat the hell out of the stupid "oh crap" beepers that don't always even work.

Thanks Nathan except that I have no existing screen. The car has the central gauges and the two gauge pods on the steering wheel, one with the speedo and the other with the tach.

I guess I'll have a winter project to attempt to locate something that isn't an arm and a leg to buy!!

Maybe you could use a blue tooth camera for android or Ipod, then you could view it on your handheld device.

Good thought. Funny how we have become dependent on those things but they actually DO have a benefit!

    Thanks for the idea!

Sorry about the late response but I wired in a back up camera because of the terrible blind spots in our convertibles. I used this camera and monitor from amazon:

If you scroll down you can see my review

    Here's the monitor:

I'll try and get some pics up later.
