OpenDNS put a quiz to see if people can spot a phising attempt. I scored 13 of 14 correct and the one I got wrong was not a phising attempt where I said it was. Better to error on the side of being safe. Take the quiz yourself and learn what to look for. OpenDNS > Phishing Quiz
How do we know this link is not phishing?:arf: I got 14 out of 14, but I have experience with this. One of my e-mail accounts receives at least 50 phishing messages a day...:frown2:
12 of 14. I identified 2 of 'em as Phishing when they really weren't. Oh well... better to be overcautious.
I scored 12 of 14 but realized about halfway through that I should have been paying closer attention to the displayed URLs. I did it again with the URLs as the primary focus and it was a whole lot easier to separate the loaves from the phishes.
I got 8 out 14 , but the ones I missed I had never seen before and I would not click on a site that was not known to me , that's what delete is for .
What's wrong with that? I have spent many a relaxing and content summer's day at lake Erie on my in law's Chriscraft. Beer in one hand and a phishing rod in the other. Such is life.... Some like to catch fresh phish, others like frozen phishstix......
pretty cool. That was awesome!! I don't know bout you all, but I did so well that they put me in touch with a lawyer representing a VERY wealthy family in Nigeria of all places. Because of how well I did on the test they wanted to use my expertise in helping the family acquire the release of their extensive funds from corrupt bankers and politicians in their homeland. I feel honored that they would ask me to help. It is so simple, see they are going to trick the bank into giving the money to me so I can give it back to them. All I need to do is send them money from my account to get the ball rolling...... simple.
14 out of 14. Like someone else, I have an account that gets bombarded with spam and phishing attempts. I've actually been seeing some recently that are on the sophisticated side (by which, I mean they took the time to try to correctly html code an email and obscure the URLs). When I clicked on the link, it asked for Nathan's SSN and password for security verification.. can you send those to me so I can complete the test?
