Your right, I don't think there was. If you think about what you said, then everybody in every country had to come from someplace else first, so where was that first place? :confused5:

Carl Sagan always said we were all made from star stuff. So I guess we all came from "out there".

    I do.:D

It's ok though, I understand; my partners usually start the week with a stimulating although heated debate revolving around which planet I immigrated from....

And the Kenyan gov't emigration dept wants to have a word with ALL of us. 'That'll be emigration fees plus 21% APR amortized over several billion years.....'

Not to further the pot stirring but I gotta ask......why come to the US if you have no intentions of becoming a citizen?

Clearly for some it is not to embrace the American way of life....

Not a statement directed at any one individual .

I can answer Scott's question. No reason what so ever. I have been here for 27 years (5 of them in the Army) before I became a citizen. To a certain degree it was apathy on my part in thinking that my vote did not matter.

P.S. Now I know it doesn't matter, but at least I get the sticker.

:frown2:Down here in Texas, they work in groups hired as contract labor by whom ever. 5-10 of them live in one house sharing expenses and sharing one solitary social security number.IRS could care less as they never file a tax return. They send most of their pay back to their families via western union or other wire company money grams as the postal service in their countries are corrupt. They work here for 5yrs and go back home for 10yrs or work here 10yrs and go back home forever. They conveniently avoid paying taxes in either country. Obama wants to make it perminant only he wants to give them all the bennies and have us tax payers pay for every thing. This will be difficult as only 52% of Americans pay any income tax and a percentage of that 52% get rebates decreasing the revenue even further.:eek6: Jason

    Taxes!!!!

This is why I'm all for the Flat Tax, and then NO ONE files a tax return at the end of the year. No child deductions, home improvements deductions, etc. Pay 20% ( or whatever ) right off the top each pay check and be done with it. That way we do get "some" taxes from the illegals..Sure the ones working the fields for cash will slip by unless you go after the farmer..
Even this is no cure-all but is the only thing I see that would get us some taxes from the illegals..

I could care less if someone comes to this country, PAYS TAXES, and SPEAKS ENGLISH, but doesn't want to become a citizen.. I figure it's their choice, but to live here you need to do the other..

Something to keep in mind.... I AM here legally. My choice not to seek citizenship is MY choice..

It's not a matter if I'm here legally or not, the gov't gave me permanent resident status.....

I should have clarified... they didn't "give" me permission... I actually bribed them with a cow. I'd call it more of a barter system. :D
