So I am needing a car cover as my housing is changing and it doesn't look like I will have a garage for the next year and a half or so.
What is the go to brand for an outdoor 4 season cover now?
    Thanks!

I have the fitted mini OEM one. It says indoor/outdoor but I still put a second waterproof cover on it, this seems to work well. The only problem I have is on the passenger side it rubbed through my CF door handle or maybe it is just time to replace it.

I've had several different ones. Including OEM's but the only thing I have found is a mutable layer seem to be the best. As long as the inner layer is a soft padded one. The OEM ones seem to rub and scratch.

I never put a car cover on a dirty or even dusty car.

It makes good sense that if you’re storing your car then a cover can be helpful but if’n you’re driving frequently you should either leave it uncovered or wash it before covering it so as not to damage the paint.

I carry a car duster in the car. It helps keep any dust off in between wash's. If I see any bug marks or any thing else I wash it before I cover it.

This would probably be for extended periods of time......probably weeks at a time.
I see lots of 5 layer covers available, all for about the same price. I am guessing they are all pretty much the same.
I'll post an update if I end up getting one.

I would like to know what you get. I hate seeing my car burn up in 100f heat and sun

Make sure it's breathable. That way if it's hot or cold you should be good. My car seats for some time but I also and a portable garage to cover it plus a car cover.

An R53 Factory MINI outdoor cover was listed for sale over on NAM recently. It’s the one that looks like a car with black windows, mirrors, wheels, and a clear plastic windows to see the license plate. Says it was only used a few times.

If it's the one I had it's not soft on the inside. It will scratch the bonnet high spots when the wind blows.
