How do you know you were the Chuck being invited to this party? I think it is funny that Kelley BMW has so many verts on their lot right now. On my way past yesterday afternoon it looked like every used car they had was an open toper.
Looks like I'm done with that car. I think that they have too much in it and aren't willing to take the loss yet. On to the next one! Might even start looking at the hardtops too...
I think a tin top would be nice. They come with a big hole in the roof if you like that sort of thing. Converts are not so hot in winter. Keep looking you'll find your MINI.
I like the 2 holes in my current roof. Seems harder to find lower mileage tin tops. If I go that route it looks like I want an 05 or 06 unless MAG wants to give me a great deal on a 2011. What mileage should I look for? Under 50000?
MAG has a really nice 2011 JCW Black with Chili Red roof for sale! Oh and I managed to find my MC40 with only 36k on the clock when I bought it...so they are out there, just have to do some looking.
Have you looked at what's on the lot in Cincinnati. Here's a 2010 S with only 372 miles! There's also a 2010 S dark silver metallic with 10,900 miles Don't know your price range so there may not be good fit - The dealer's pretty good, but I didn't buy mine from there so I can't say too much about that part of the deal. Good Luck!!
Well, the search is being put on hold since I leave for a while on Monday. After that the search continues!
Not to be a smart arse here. When your search resumes be careful. There will be flood cars for sale after Irene.
Warning boring old fart story below..... I looked at a 4Runner that was a sweet killer deal not long after the Mississippi floods. It was at a local Toyota dealer & it looked great. I was worried when I was told it was bought at an out of state auction & had zero history on its former life. Flood car was a real fear of mine. I looked over that car good & I saw no evidence. Then I sat inside & I put my hand up under the dash I fished around. When I pulled my hand out it had dry mud on it!! :eek6: Someone had done an amazing job of cleaning that car out, but the evidence was there. It was a narrow escape.
Crazy story! That's a good reason not to touch a car with no history available. It's a big reason I didn't get the M3 I was looking at. If the dealers get the maintenance history with the car they just chunk it due to privacy concerns. About the only thing you have now is carfax and if it was dealer services than that stuff usually shows up. Sounds like you were lucky to find that mud!
