Yeah, PB Blaster a little before you start is good, but be VERY careful getting that stuff on brake components. Have a can of brake clean close by for when you do though ;)

The double nut trick is what i did to get the oold ones off. I use Dorman lugnuts, and with the being a 19mm, i was able to apply more then enough torque to get them out. Pretty generic lug nut that can be found at most auto-parts store. (m12x1.5)

Another trick i heard of AFTER (ofcourse) was to use a bit of heat from a torch and wick a birthday candle into the threads. Apparently the wax does find its way to where you need it, and pulling the stud out is pretty damn simple. Only concern here would be the wax leaving behind small traces and the loctite not being able to act accordingly ? Maybe, but IDK.

Good luck to those, and if you are about to pull out the old ones, get a thread chaser so that you can clean the threads up and get any left over corrosion out. Honestly, get a couple...or four. Mine was pretty tired after to two BAD hubs.

That's what happens when you have the right sized bolts (which he did) and the wrong pitch (which he did also).

Just picked up the set sold by Bimmer World. Look just like the Turner ones so maybe they are the same.

But I do like them over my old TSW ones. The base seems to be designed a bit better where it threads into the hubs.

You can't go wrong with either BW or Turner studs. Fantastic craftsmanship, quality materials, premium price.

Man, wish I had known more when I bought my studs. POS brand as I recall. IMHO quality is worth the price especially for something as important as wheel studs.

I have learned that lesson many times, but still get bitten by the cheap price low quality bug once in a while.

My sister is going to be really disappointed about that.

No, wait.... you mean 'wheel studs'?

Boy, did I misunderstand this thread's title....

    Shame on you....:D
Does your sister follow your postings on M/A? You could have some real splaining to do for the next Holliday family get together.
