    Welcome to M/A!

I cannot be of any help to you as my MINIs are all Generation 1s. However, there are a lot of Generation 2 folk here who can and WILL be of service. Good luck!

Are you saying that when you apply RESET it doesn't display a new value? Which service item (oil, brakes, etc) are you trying to reset? If it doesn't reset for brakes, the sensor needs to be replaced.

CBS is Condition Based Service. It's the thing in the car computer (2nd gen and above) that triggers service alerts based on time and mileage (e.g. 1 year or 10K miles for oil). It has different alerts for different fluids, and brakes. There's a procedure to review and reset service alerts on the tach display.
